From Laid Off at $17/Hour to 15,000 Cars Tinted
I'm Alex Harry. I didn't come from money or a trade background. I started broke, in a garage, taught the hard way — and built a life from a squeegee and a roll of film. This is how it happened.

First, Let Me Be Honest With You
There are thousands of "get rich in 30 days, no work required" schemes online. This isn't one of them.
If you want a magic button or a business for lazy people — this isn't for you, and I wish you luck. But if you're not afraid of honest work and you want a real, stable way to make money — keep reading.
The Day Everything Changed
I was a full-time support worker in Christchurch, earning $17.65/hr — about $2,400 a month after tax. Then our CEO vanished with the company's money, it shut down, and I was laid off.
Around the same time, a mate showed up in a new BMW and told me he'd just paid $600 to get one car tinted. I didn't even know what tinting was. But my mind started doing the maths…
"$600 for ONE car? That's a week's wage — in a single day."
$17,000 To a Teacher Who Showed Me Once
There was one tinter in town — John, about 60, brilliant at his craft, with a 3-month waiting list. I asked him to teach me. He said "NO." I came back the next day. "GO AWAY." I came back a third day and offered money.
To get rid of me, he named a price: $25,000. I had $2k to my name. I called every friend I had and scraped together $17,000. John looked at me, saw I was serious, and finally said yes.
Then he stood me in the corner and said: "Just watch. Don't ask questions. I'll only show you once." And that was the training.

My First $600 Day
I practised on my own car, then friends' cars — no smartphones, no YouTube, no schools back then. After about 25 cars I printed flyers and walked them around my neighbourhood. People started calling. I was honest — told them I was still learning, let them pay what they thought was fair. They paid $100 to $300.
After 50-60 cars, a friend said: "Mate, you're ready. Charge full price." My first full-paying customer was a Honda Odyssey. It took me all day — I cleaned the glass a dozen times, made sure every pattern was perfect. The owner picked it up, looked it over, and said: "This is great." He paid me $600.
I sat at the dining table holding that $600, waiting for my wife — and I started to cry. Tears of joy. I'd made a week's wage in a single day — and I knew this could replace my job.
From Tinter To Teacher
After tinting over 15,000 cars, homes, offices and boats across Australia, I opened the Window Tint Training Institute in Adelaide — 5-day hands-on workshops at $3,500 a student.
I trained 400+ people face to face — detailers, truck drivers, office workers, international students, gardeners, mechanics. Every one arrived with zero experience. Almost all left knowing exactly what to do next.
Watching a complete beginner build a business and change their family's life — that became the most satisfying work I'd ever done.

The Faces Behind The Story
Hundreds of everyday Australians — from every background you can imagine — learned this skill and built something of their own.

I Sold It… And I Came Back
In 2023 I built my first online course. Then in June 2025 I made a decision I regretted almost immediately — I sold the online business.
The messages never stopped coming. Students making their first $1,000, their first $5,000, quitting their jobs, changing their families' lives. Every message reminded me of what I'd walked away from — not the income, the impact.
So after Christmas 2025, I came back. Not for the money — because I missed the teaching. And this time I'm doing it better: Window Tint Skool — a completely new course, better videos, more depth, everything I know in one place. Cars, homes, offices, troubleshooting, and the full business system.

Your Story Could Start Today
No matter your background, your age, or your experience — if you're willing to put in honest work, you can build real, consistent income from this skill. I learned it the hard, expensive way so you don't have to.
It took me $17,000 and a teacher who showed me once. It'll take you a fraction of that — and I'll show you as many times as you need.
